2、ld, including linguistic, literary criticism and cultural research, etc. During the process, the basic implication of hybridity remains the same. Hybridity refers to a new object which is formed by mutual effect and inte
3、raction between two or more objects. And the new one not only retains the characteristics of the original ones, but also has the evident peculiarities of which the advantages surpass its matrix. In translation studies, h
4、ybridity is employed to describe the translated version contains the source language, culture and literature, as well as the target language, culture and literature. It is inevitable that hybridity exists in translation
5、when the source language and the target language collide and merge with each other. As a result, all the translated versions are hybrid to some extent. In pace with the prevailing of postcolonial translation theory, a lo
6、t of scholars have accomplished a plenty of research on hybridity in translation and have gained remarkable achievements. In China, Han Ziman’s book A Study of Translation in Literary Translation is influential in which
7、he puts forward that hybridity is an essential and universal characteristic in literary translation. As MoYan won the Nobel Prize of Literature in 2012, Chinese literature is moving towards a new era by integrating into
8、the world. And Ge Haowen, the main translator of MoYan’s works, has aroused extensive attention. He has already translated more than 50 Chinese literary works published so far and made great contribution to the exports o
9、f Chinese literature. From the success of Ge Haowen’s translation, we find that the strategy of moderate hybridity plays an important role through which the charm of Chinese literature and culture had been remained and f
10、ully accepted and appreciated by western readers. However, the translation studies of him and his versions are still limited, especially the employment of hybridity. In this thesis, Ge Haowen’s version of Mo Yan’s full-l
