3、tThispaperwilldemonstratethattheirapproachdevelopedover30yearsagoisnotpracticaltoday.Itresultsinasignificanteconomicpenaltytotheowner.BeltspliceconstructionmaterialsmodemanalyticprocedurescanprovidesafeoperationusinganSF
4、ratiobelow6:1atbreakingstrengthratingsfromST1000NmmtoaboveST6000Nmm.Splicefatiguefailurecriteriastresslimitsofthecerubbercablearediscussed.Thismethodisusedtoresolvemodernsteelcdbeltsplicedesign.Theeconomicbenefitscanbesu
5、bstantialfnewreplacementbelt.1.IntroductionThispaperisanextensionoftheauths19911993papers[1][2]respectively.Furtherresearchisbeingconductedontheviscoelasticpowerequationthehyperelasticsplicemodelingmethodsfatiguemechanic
6、sofsteelcablerubber.Thesecriteriaothernotableinfluencesprovidethenecessaryrefinementstoguidethechangesinbeltsplicespecificationsconstructionmethods.Thesetoolscansupptthemineownersinterestinrankingtheperfmanceofbeltsrubbe

15、materialsengineeringmethodsDynamicfatiguetestingofthebeltitssplicepatternasdefinedbyDIN22110arealsoanecessitywhenrecommendingnewclassesofbeltconstruction[6].acoursewemustbearinmindanyreductioninthesocalledSafetyFactmusta
16、lsobeaccomplishedwithfullunderstingofallengineeringissuesdesignstardswhichmustapply.TheSafetyFactisdependentonmanyelementsoutsidethecontrolofthemanufacturer.Whentheownerwishesasignificantcostsavingsiswillingtoparticipate
