7、sthesiswillexaminethelawpertainingtofinanceleasinginEnglWalesaimingtoassesswhetheritisfitfthepurposeoffacilitatingtradeofequipment.Ingeneraltheterms“l(fā)ease”“hire”areusedinterchangeablywhenchattelsareconcerned.Butwhenthedi

8、scussionreferstolspecificallytheterm“l(fā)ease”ischosentodifferentiateitfromthehireofgoods.Financeleasingisverymuchtaxdriven.Itsvolumeofusagestartedtoriserapidlyinthe1970sbecauseofthe100%firstyearallowancesatthetime.Sincethe

9、benefitwasremovedinthe1980sthedevelopmentoffinanceleasingsloweddown.BythetimewhentheFinanceAct2006cameintofcetaxationbenefitsavailabletothelesseeofafinanceleasebecameratherlimited.Researchshowsthatthechoiceoffinanceleasi
